This 8-mile walk will start in Chirk, past Chirk Aqueduct, and through the impressive Chirk Tunnel (bring a head torch as it is over 400 m long!) before going through woodland at the back of Chirk Castle. The path ascends to part of Offa’s Dyke, and then descends through lovely woodland to the River Ceiriog to join the Llwybr Ceiriog Trail, in the lovely Ceiriog valley, and part of the Offa's Dyke, to return across the canal aqueduct to the Caffi Wylfa for tea and cakes. Lovely views throughout and lots of history. Please book with leader by text or WhatsApp.
There are a few stiles and a long canal tunnel to walk through so bring a head torch. There are a few stiles and a steep section going up to Offa’s Dyke where there will be a lunch stop. There are toilets and a chance to refill water bottles at Chirk Castle. You don’t need to be a member of the National Trust.
