Overview

A walk to Cilfrew via Craig Gwladys Woods and back along the Tennant Canal to Neath Abbey.

A bit of a climb initially then we will have a break with lunch at Cilfrew. There will be some steps along the route.

Stiles: There are no stiles

Toilets: At Green Dragon

Terrain: A mixture of roads, woodland paths and canal path.

Social after walk:

Afterwards, we will go for refreshments to the Green Dragon, Cadoxton

Directions:

  • M4 to J43.
  • At roundabout take road onto A465 Neath/Merthyr.
  • Pass McDonalds and Trade Centre Wales and come off at next junction.
  • 1st left at roundabout marked Pontardawe / Skewen / Neath Abbey.
  • At next roundabout take 3rd exit marked Neath College and Cadoxton.
  • Go past college on left and carry on under footbridge and railway bridge.
  • Go straight through mini roundabout on to 2nd roundabout and turn left on to Pen Y Wern Road.
  • After 150 metres, turn right onto Daphne Road and park on road.
