Overview

A delightful summer walk circling the pretty market town of Steyning. Stunning views and varied landscapes - including the twittens of old Steyning, Wiston Estate, Horseshoe Wood, the South Downs Way, Adur riverbank, the Downslink and farmland. Bring a picnic lunch to eat en route at Bramber Castle or head to St Mary's House tea rooms.

There is a steep climb just after the start and a gradual descent on solid ground before lunch. After lunch the walk is on flat ground. There are two stiles and several kissing gates.

Meet in front of the Steyning Centre, Fletchers Croft. (The community centre NOT the health centre).There is a large car park here £3.90 for 5 hours. Also free onstreet parking in some surrounding streets. The number 2 bus from Brighton stops nearby and arrives at 10.12am in good time for the start. Message the leader if you'd like a lift from Shoreham Station.
