Starting from the village hall in Hurstbourne Tarrant the route climbs the southern flank of the Bourne Valley heading for St Mary Bourne. After descending into the village we climb the northern flank of the Valley and pass through the isolated hamlet of Binley on the return journey. The paths are generally good but at this time of year expect some wet and muddy stretches. After the initial quite steep climb the route is fairly level and the views over the pretty Bourne Valley make all the effort well worth while. There are four stiles. Good walking boots and appropriate clothing are highly recommended. Remember to bring a packed lunch and please advise the leader if you intend to come on this walk.
Meet in the Romsey Rapids CP at the rear by the fence between it and the Romsey Town FC. Please advise the walk leader if you need a lift.
Start in the Hurstbourne Tarrant Village Hall CP the entrance to which is opposite the Church.
