The walk will start from the free car park on Moor Road (map ref SP963008) and we will walk to Chesham Metropolitan line station for 10.45am to meet anyone able to travel by train. When writing this a tube strike is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday 24/25 March so the Tube may not be operating – see special notes below.
We initially walk down the High Street, across the main road and into the park where toilets are available. We then continue west from Chesham with pleasant views overlooking Herberts Hole and then along Little Hundridge Lane to Chartridge and on to The Blue Ball at Ashridge where we will stop for lunch (about 5 miles). There are seats outside the PH we can use but if you use the toilets in the PH please buy a drink.
After lunch we continue east along various field paths and through woods to where our path crosses the main A416 at the King Charles PH where we can stop for a short break (7 miles) and then we turn south towards Botley and back to the car park in Chesham.
A tube strike is scheduled for 24 and 25 March so there may be no trains on 25th but if for any reason you wish to join the walk at Chesham Metropolitan line station please let me know by Tuesday 24th by calling my mobile, texting or send me an email.
Toilets are available in the park shortly after the start and for customers of the Blue Ball at lunch time.
Please come in sturdy boots and bring a pole if necessary as paths are slippery and muddy at this time of year.
Please bring a packed lunch. Hot drinks are available from the Blue Ball PH at lunch time.
