A relatively flat walk through a mix of open fields and woodland. We meet outside the Worlds End pub which has plenty of free street parking. We walk to, and then through the small village of Clapham, taking a short break as we emerge overlooking the bend of Long Furlong. Returning to Clapham by a different path we retrace our steps back to the pub.
Bring a snack as we will stop for a short break. We will not be having an additional longer lunch break.
Given the time of year it's inevitable we will encounter some mud. I'll be using a walking pole There is programme of gradually replacing stiles with metal kissing gates in this area, however there are still three or four yet to be replaced.
We usually share a coffee etc at the end in the pub
The Worlds End pub is on the Arundel Road. If you are driving along the A27 from Arundel heading in the Worthing direction, turn off at the Patching exit. Drive past the Fox pub and keep going for half a mile. If you are driving along the A27 from Worthing, come off at the Clapham exit, but don't take the A280 to Clapham, take the next immediate exit to Patcham and the pub is in about a quarter of a mile.
