Overview

Initially follow a gradually rising path through a small wood and across meadows then climb steeply to Chanctonbury Ring (1.3mi). Then descend via Buddington Bottom (3mi), passing one of Wiston vineyards. The path then undulates to North Farm after which we cross the A24 on a bridge (4.5mi). Pass through the edge of Windlesham House School (5.5mi) before a short steep descent (steps) then follow path above the road before crossing the second bridge to return to the start.

On the steep descent there are two fallen trees to negotiate (one we have crossed in the opposite direction on a previous walk; on the recce we descended slightly to go round it - poles might be helpful).

Further on there is a short stretch where the water in the field was overflowing across the path, but it won't over top boots.
