Overview

10am Clough Bank (Middlewood Way) CP, Bollington. About 6 miles, moderate (around 600ft ascent/descent) Route: The route is mostly easy but with a few short but fairly steep ascents/descents and some rough paths. 3 or 4 stiles. We follow the Middlewood Way and Canal to Higher Hurdsfield, then field paths to Swanscoe Farm and tracks to Kerridge Road/Lidgetts Lane before climbing to the Saddle of Kerridge (beautiful views) and following the Gritstone Trail down to the lower path on the far side (more beautiful views) and around the base of White Nancy to Dawson's farm and back onto the canal. NB: Field paths are already very wet and muddy (mid-September) - wear appropriate footwear and bring poles if you have them. Bring drinks and snacks. Well-behaved dogs welcome, but must be kept on a short lead along canal and through fields. The car park is fairly small - car sharing recommended where possible; I can bring up to 3 people from Macclesfield - contact me on 07941 290684 for this, or for any other queries regarding the walk
