Clydach and the Tyla

After a walk upstream by the side of the River Clydach the route passes the old iron works and ascends by way of a pretty stretch of Cwm Dyar to the former Clydach Station. Crossing the impressive viaduct and passing the old lime works we ascend in further modest stages contouring the slopes of Gilwern Hill to reach the Tyla.  The return is down lanes, wooded paths and across fields to Ty Gwyn Farm whence we descend to the canal towpath to reach the start point.
