Overview

A delightful walk that takes in forest and mountainside.  From the start point the ascent is gradual through the forest on a broad track.   The damage caused by the intense storms of 2024 have opened up the forest to provide lovely views to the surrounding mountains – perhaps the only benefit of those catastrophic events.   There is then a short climb to attain the Gader Ridge followed by a stretch along the open hillside until we reach the 550 metre trig point on Crug Mawr.  From there, weather conditions permitting, we will enjoy magnificent views of a long distance walk known locally as the Llanbedr Horseshoe The descent is on the Beacons Way before re-entering the forest for the return to the start point.
