.This walk starts in the historic wool town of Stow-on-the-Wold. Entering the Abbotswood Estate, the route heads west towards Upper Swell. It then runs south following the River Dikler to Lower Swell and continues through charming countryside to Maugersbury village before looping back into the centre of Stow.
Height gain 440 feet; lots of kissing gates and some gradual ups and downs.
Stow on the Wold is the quintessential Cotswolds market town with numerous beautiful buildings. Plenty of opportunities for shopping and refreshment at the end of the walk
Free parking at the Fosseway car park, Stow-on-the-Wold, Glos. (Next to Tesco north of town turning off A429)
