A walk from Lochgoilhead climbing to a hill at the start of the ridge between Loch Long and Loch Goil with extensive views of the Clyde Estuary.

Ascent through Argyll Forest Park from Lochgoilhead (Cowal Way), then open moor climb to Cnoc Coinnich, with 360° panoramic views.  Follow ridge south then descend past The Steeple.  Steep but pretty glen path re-joins Cowal Way.

Local Grade: B+

Terrain: : Good forest path, then steep ascent through section of forest with many fallen trees.  Cowal Way then open moor path to peak; ridge path and descent mostly distinct, with occasional boggy patches. Final descent to glen path steep and rocky. 

Max height: 765 m.
