A varied walk through attractive woodland, with glimpses of an industrial past. Along with neighbouring Ironbridge, the area saw the birth of an industrial revolution when the Darby family perfected the use of coal instead of charcoal to produce iron. There are several museums to visit in what is now a World Heritage Site.
This is Walk 31 in the '20 More Walks around Shrewsbury' book.
The terrain is mainly woodland paths with short, occasionally steep, ups and downs and some flights of wooden steps
