Starting at 9:00am from the National Trust Cookham Moor car park, this walk is very varied and has a bit of everything. We walk through Cookham, past Holy Trinity Church, taking a path that leads to a wonderful stretch of the Thames, past Cookham Reach. A gentle climb then rewards us with great views over the river from Winter Hill, followed by a lovely woodland path through Quarry Wood. The final section of the route crosses Cookham Dean Common before walking through Cookham Rise. At the end of the walk, there will be the opportunity to visit The Crown pub for refreshments. The total ascent for the walk is 560 ft (170 m).
Parking in the National Trust Cookham Moor car park costs £2.00 for the day (free of charge for NT members on scanning your membership card). There may also be some roadside parking available in Cookham High Street (SL6 9SG) or by the War Memorial or in School Lane, all of which are just four minutes walk away. If travelling by train, Cookham Station is just a 10 minute walk away.
There will not be a lunch stop on the walk, but please bring snacks and plenty to drink.
