We start at Forest Coal Pit car park on the north-east side of Sugar Loaf and then take a coffee break at the very peaceful St Issui’s Church (Patrishow). After a steep climb we reach the summit of Crug Mawr (550m) with some excellent views over the Black Mountains and beyond (weather permitting). After a steep descent, lunch will be taken on the banks of the lovely Grwyne Fechan River near Llanbedr. Then after leaving the river and a short walk along very quiet country roads, we start the ascent of Sugar Loaf from the west. From the summit it’s all downhill back to the car park.
No dogs please.
Bring a packed lunch and plenty to drink.
