A linear walk. From the start we walk to Deptford Creek and then follow the River Ravensbourne South to Ladywell Park from where we swing West via Blythe Hill and One Tree Hill to reach Peckham Rye Park for our lunch stop. Heading North and East again after lunch we pass through the grandeur of Nunhead Cemetery and on to Camberwell New Cemetery to reach Hilly Fields from where we descend to the finish at Brockley Station.
Walking shoes should be fine. There are three South London hills but otherwise the going should be easy.
Pay lavatory available at the start with free toilets available about 45 minutes into the walk and at the lunch stop.
The cafe at Peckham Rye serves food and hot drinks but a packed lunch is recommended.
Drop out points available at Ladywell and Honor Oak Stations in the morning and at Peckham Rye at lunch time.
We will meet by the entrance to the Thames Foot Tunnel beside the Cutty Sark. The starting point is a few minutes from the Cutty Sark DLR station or a slightly longer walk from Greenwich station.
Travel: 10.15 DLR from Bank is scheduled to arrive at Cutty Sark at 10.34 or the 10.18 from London Bridge is scheduled to arrive at Greenwich station at 10.27.
No booking required. No dogs.
The finishing time is an estimate only and will be dependent on a number of factors, such as weather, the speed at which the group walks and the number of breaks taken.
