From Currie drive down to Sighthill and the slipway on to the M8 – leave at Junction 1A and go under the underpass travelling on to the M9 – keeping left to take the slip road – M90 – on to the Queensferry Crossing road – after crossing over to Fife we take Junction 1C turn off on to the A921Aberdour Road – and continue until you reach Aberdour – at the bend in the road at the end of the High Street, cross straight over and park in the Station Car Park. KY3 0SN
Walk: We walk from the Station along the High Street and at the end of the village, cross over and enter field path and down to enter woodland – we travel down through the woods until we reach the Avenue – turn right and continue along to end (reaching edge of Dalgety Bay) – we turn left and walk downhill and continue to look at the ruin of St. Bridget’s Kirk (coffee and look around) – on leaving, we turn right and back along a lower path until we reach a constructed path (fenced pathway going uphill) and this brings us out again at The Avenue – we continue by turning right and continue reaching the Braefoot Road – going through the underpass and keep to the right and continue along the path which passes the golf course (hopefully all this area will be awash with lots of lovely daffodils) – we continue and pass through a gate and join a road for a short way which brings us out at a Lodge House and Sun Gates into Aberdour. We turn right and after a short way, (Shore Road) right again down towards the water – plenty of seating (lunch stop here) – we then continue round past the harbour. We leave the obvious path (round Hawkrigg Point) and take the path going uphill – to reach a new tarmac road with car park ahead – option here which way to go – longer route via silver sands or shorter turning left and walking along to the Castle Gardens and then down the metal steps and alongside the railway to the start.
