A strenous 20 mile hike from the start of the South Downs Way at Eastbourne to just past Southease, with a short detour to finish at the Abergavenny Arms for welcome refreshments. Highlights of the walk include Beachy Head, Birling Gap, the Seven Sisters, Exceat, Alfriston, Firle Beacon and Beddingham Hill. It’s also for a good cause to raise funds for the Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospitals Charity (see link below)
If you do wish to do the whole walk you will need to make your own arrangements to be collected from the finish point at the Abergavenny Arms. Unfortunately there is no public transport from there.
If you prefer you can do a shorter version of the walk leaving at Exceat (12/12A and 12X buses) at 7.5 miles or Southease Station (trains to Lewes and Seaford) at 17.5 miles.
There are refreshments and toilets available at Birling Gap, Exceat, Alfriston and Southease.
