We’re a Ramblers group aimed mainly at people in their 20s, 30s and a bit beyond, offering guided hikes and social events across Herts, Beds and south Cambs.
This walk is for up to 25 people including the leader.
A leisurely summer evening walk through the countryside of Digswell and Tewin, including open fields dotted with woodland and various livestock.
The route is mainly on rural paths and mostly flat with some gentle slopes, and a short distance on a country road.
We will start at 7pm at Digswell Park Road Car Park, which is a ten minute walk from Welwyn North Station. We will continue on a straight path past wheatfields, before we arrive at Tewin Bury Farm. We may spot some cows, alpacas and pigs in the nearby fields.
Afterwards we will pass through the surroundings of St. Peter's Church in Tewin village, which includes the graves of aviation pioneers Geoffrey and John de Havilland. We will then pass a paddock of horses.
We will finish by walking toward a picturesque view of the historic Digswell Viaduct and the rolling hills. We may even catch the sunset! A five minute walk from the car park will lead us to The Cowper Arms where anyone is welcome to stop for a drink.
Dogs are welcome on a lead.

Walks are graded Easy, Leisurely, Moderate or Strenuous in increasing order of difficulty. Please read the walk description to check it is within your abilities and contact the group if you are unsure.

As a charity we ask that non-members consider making a voluntary donation to Ramblers until they purchase membership. We suggest £3-4 per walk. You can donate in person or online.
