Overview

This is a B + walk.

We start walking from St Kessog's Church along Campsie Dene Rd, Blanefield until we reach Cantywheery cottage where we begin to climb.  We follow a stream steeply uphill. The path levels off before climbing steeply again to the summit of Dumgoyne 427metres where we can have extensive 360 degree views weather permitting.  We then begin our descent towards Glengoyne Distillery.  Great care has to be taken due to the steep descent and also the path is heavily eroded.  Toilets are available at Glengoyne distillery and also a fresh water tap, we will have a lunch stop here.  We then cross the busy A81 and join the West Highland Way which takes us to a path leading to Blanefield and back to our car park. Gaiters and poles are required.

Care required with the steep ascent and descent and also crossing the A81. There are some stiles and gates to climb.
