This short walk is within the woodland of Dundonald Castle. There are a number of uphill stretches and tree roots but it is on a very good path. We can walk as far as people are comfortable with as this is designed to be a short, gentler walk. The path eventually takes us down to a reservoir with great views over to Arran if we choose to go that far.
At this time of year the woods are a mass of amazing bluebells and hopefully the weather will not have affected them too much.
On our return there is a lovely small cafe where we can relax over coffee and cake!
Strong footwear is needed. Poles are optional.
For anyone wishing to use public transport, there is a Troon bus which leaves Kilmarnock bus station at 9.35am and stops in Dundonald.
As always, please let the walk leader know if you intend to go direct to the start point.
