A walk with varied terrain. A forest path through Barnsthorns Wood, the rural tracks of Blackmoor Farm, then Wisely and Ockham Common. On Telegraph Hill we pass a Telegraph Tower built during the Napoleonic Wars to connect London with Portsmouth. It is said a message could travel the distance in 5 minutes. Then on to Ripley Green Woods and the final stage of the walk along the River Wey Navigation.
This is a linear walk. Wear suitable shoes and clothing as some paths are overgrown and if wet may be slippery. Please bring a packed lunch.
No drop-out points.
No booking required.
The finishing time is an estimate only and will be dependent on a number of factors, such as the weather, the speed at which the group walks and the number of breaks taken.
