We are the Midlife Hikers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.

We start off walking through Fairburn and then out into open countryside and through a small wood to Ledsham where there is a medieval church dating from the 8th century. From there, we continue through another small wood to Ledston, and then on to RSPB 🐦 Fairburn Ings where we will try to commandeer some picnic tables to have lunch at, and you can get a hot drink from the café ☕. We then return to the cars through the nature reserve where we can see a variety of birdlife.
This walk includes some road walking, fields and woodland, and is likely to be muddy! There are several kissing gates and one stile; no major hills, just a nice steady 8 mile walk.

🐶 Dogs are welcome, and must be kept on a lead at all times
🥪 We recommend bringing a packed lunch
🚻 There are toilets at the RSPB visitor centre where we are stopping for lunch
🍺 After the walk, we can head to the pub in Fairburn for a drink
Midlife Hikers is a Ramblers group for people in their 40s and 50s, and our walks are led by volunteers. Non-members are welcome to try us out for free for up to 3 walks but then we ask you to join the Ramblers
