Overview

The Golden Fleece is the fleece of the golden-woolled, winged ram, Chrysomallos, that rescued Phrixus and brought him to Colchis, where Phrixus then sacrificed it to Zeus.

It's also the name of a great pub in Braughing and our walk will start from there. Some of our walk will follow a Roman road as well as include a little bit of modern road walking. The walk is varied and in addition to the above includes some stretches thru fields, some mud, some woods, and great views of the Hertfordshire countryside.

If you plan to join the walk leader for lunch at the Golden Fleece please arrive by 9.45 a.m. to pre-order your meal at the pub.
