The first 2.5 miles of this linear walk are all uphill - a steady climb but one which some may find strenuous. Paths may be narrow and winding. Passing Rocks Farm,we descend to beautiful grassy paths towards the Dipping stones. Our route then meanders through villages bound by gorse bushes and marshes. We pass through Buxworth basin and climb to continue along paths to Whaley Bridge via woodland and moors. There are sheep, cattle and horses in the fields.
There are a number of stiles on this walk, two road crossings requiring care and a bridge crossing the motorway.
Bring waterproofs and expect mud if there has been recent rain.
