The first 2.5 miles of this linear walk are all uphill - a steady climb but one which some may find strenuous. Reaching  Black Hill Ridge we descend to beautiful grassy paths towards the Dipping stones. Our route then meanders through villages bound by gorse bushes and marshes, and paths to Whaley Bridge via woodland and moors.
There are a number of stiles on this walk and a bridge across the motorway.

Bring waterproofs and expect mud if there has been recent rain.
