Overview

An Essex Farmland walk through fields and along lanes to RHS Hyde Hall. There are some stiles and some paths are a bit overgrown. This is an outstanding garden, a mix of traditional and modern styles, with colourful borders. I hope to have 2+ hours in the garden. Our onward route to South Woodham Ferrers includes some road walking. Garden entry £9.70, a special price for visitors using public transport.

Lunch: Picnic or cafés in the garden

Train: London Liverpool Street 9:33 (Southend train); Stratford 9:40; change at Wickford (arr 10:11) to take the 10:16 to Battlesbridge (Southminster train). Buy return to South Woodham Ferrers.
