A walking group for young people in the Shropshire area. We have walks on most weekends, mid-week in the summer as well as socials and weekends away too.
A 6.5 mile circular hike following Glydŵr’s Way, taking in the summit of Y Golfa (341m).
Please note, this walk is linked to the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway social (see event page for details). You are very welcome to join us in Welshpool just for the walk.
The first two and half miles of the walk feature a slow and steady ascent of Y Golfa (341m). The climb begins in the genteel parkland of Llanerchydol Hall before opening out onto sweeping vistas of mid-Wales. Once we have summited we will stop for lunch alongside the trig point, before beginning our descent back into Welshpool along a lower branch of Glyndŵr’s Way.
We should arrive back at Welshpool Raven Square Station with plenty of time to visit the station cafe and explore the engine sheds, before catching the 14:15 back to Llanfair Caereinion (arriving 15:00).

Parking 🅿️ - If you are joining just for the walk, there are various car parks located in Welshpool that are only a short walk to Welshpool Raven Square Station.
