We are the West Berkshire Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.

The walk starts from the Control Tower at Greenham Common and initially heads south over Greenham Common before turning east to reach Crookham Common, from where we descend to Headley Ford. We then walk beside the River Enborne to just above Mill Green, where we cross a footbridge and take field paths to reach the Crookham Road. A tree-lined footpath then follows the Crookham Road before descending to the Kennet and Avon Canal via Chamberhouse Mill. After following the canal towpath to Widmead Lock, we turn north to Thatcham Nature Discovery Centre, returning to the cars via the Reed Beds and the lower reaches of Bowdown Woods.
Please bring sufficient food and drink for the day, including "coffee" and lunch stops.
Parts of the walk are exposed so please dress appropriately for the weather.
