Overview

The walk begins after the train station, following the tranquil River Wey Navigation. It briefly joins the North Downs Way, with a detour to Chantries Hills, before returning to the North Downs Way and passing by St Martha Hill.

We will then veer off the North Downs Way, following the Downs Link trail, and taking a detour to Albury and Blackheath before returning to the link. Finally, we'll retrace our steps to Guildford along the River Wey.

The path isn't as muddy as you might expect in the winter, but there's still some mud along the route. It's a good idea to bring gaiters and a spare pair of socks as the last bit of the Wey South Path was quite flooded when I did the recce.

We'll make a stop at a pub at the end. Be sure to bring a packed lunch.
