We are the Wakefield and District Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
This figure of eight walk links Heath Common, Walton Colliery Nature Park and part of Barnsley Canal, returning by Nature Dave's Trail and Doncaster Road. Some inclines and mainly good underfoot although there is a very long muddy patch so walking poles and gaiters recommended. Please note the walk has been altered to avoid the muddiest sections.
A short refreshment stop (or two) during the walk with lunch back at Walton Colliery Nature Park where there is a Heronry and lots of Cowslips.
Optional visit to The King's Arms at Heath at the end.
