Overview

Hergest Ridge , near KIngton, Herfordshire, straddles the English Welsh borders for 4 miles. It was made musically famous by Mike Oldfield with his 1974 album of the same name. We go along the ridge and return along a lower pathways to the south, with views towards the Black Mountains.

We will park in the Hergest Croft Gardens car park. The Gardens are well worth a visit to see the Azalea garden and exotic flowering trees, large woodland with Rhododendrons, kitchen garden and orchard and other garden areas surrounding the lawns in front of the Edwardian house which has an excellent tearoom.  The visit is optional and entrance costs £9.00 (see link to their website below).
