The walk starts (for ease of parking) at the gates to the Braidburn Valley Park on Greenbank Crescent. This is a circular walk on good paths with outstanding views of Edinburgh. It goes through Hermitage of Braid, around Blackford Pond and up Blackford Hill before returning to cross the Braid Burn and then goes up the Howe Dean Burn path and on to the summit of the Broad Hills. We then descend down a path to the golf course before following a path to the Lang Linn path leading back to the Hermitage entrance where there is a cafe should anyone want to stop for a coffee before returning to their vehicles.
There are some short climbs (18 without a railing). There are toilets in the Hermitage.
PD: £1.50
