From the parking area, we head east towards Old Burghclere before turning north to join the Brenda Parker Way. We head west into the Highclere Castle Estate and, using a combination of the public footpath and permitted Summer walks, we enjoy some of the sights and scenery of the grounds. Exiting the estate, we head towards Burghclere to re-join the Brenda Parker Way before turning south back to Old Burghclere via Earlstone Manor, to retrace our route back to the car park.
This is an undulating walk and there are a number of gates, of which a couple are quite tight, and nine stiles, of which one is passable but in very poor condition. Whilst most of the route is on well maintained estate roads, farm tracks and field boundaries, there are a couple of stretches that are rutted and overgrown where care will be required.
Please bring sufficient food and drink for a mid morning coffee break and a lunch stop
This walk is limited to 16 so please use the website link to book your place before 6.00pm on Wednesday 23rd July
