Overview

NOTE LATER START TIME - 11.00

This is a gentle semi-circular walk of approximately 5.5 miles, minimum ascent 170 feet, along tracks, fields and coastal paths.

We leave the car park and head towards the village and turn right and head up a farm track that will be muddy if it has rained.  We walk towards Emmanuel Head through fields which will give us an opportunity to have a coffee stop and watch birds.  We walk along the coastal path to Lindisfarne Castle (lunch stop) and back to the village to visit the Priory.

Safe crossing times 12.15 – 21.15.  We will plan to leave Kelso at 11.00.  Car sharing is encouraged.

Parking on the island cost £8.00 payable by card.  There are public toilets at the start of the walk.

Options to visit Lindisfarne Castle (NT), priory and visitor’s centre.  There are several cafes back in the village
