Meet in the free car park at the Co-op, Constable Road, St Ives. The route takes us out of St Ives alongside the edge of the Outdoor Leisure Centre, we drop down into Houghton then make our way back uphill to Wyton airbase and follow a long farm track to the closed off end of the Old Ramsey Road, a quiet lane which takes us back into St Ives.
The Haywain pub will be open if anybody fancies a sociable drink at the end of our walk, but bring a flask and snacks for a couple of short breaks during the walk. I have tried to pick out the driest paths as I am not a fan of mud, and as a consequence there are parts of the walk you may consider urban, but there is still plenty of interest and you can get some far reaching views on a clear day.
