This is the anticlockwise variation on what seemed to be a popular walk a few weeks ago, starting at the Ram in Ibstock and proceeding to Nailstone via Overton Road, Green Lane and the Leicestershire Round and back to Ibstock through some attractive fields and farmland. Not a particularly demanding ramble so it would definitely suit someone considering joining us for the first time.
Six stiles and there will be a short break near Nailstone church. We cross the busy A447 twice and particular care is advised at the crossing near Nailstone as there is a nearby bend in the road. Care should also be taken when approaching the car park at the Ram due to the large "sleeping policeman". There was no livestock on the pre walk although this of course could change at any time so dog owners should exercise care.
Opening of the toilets in the public car park at the start of the walk is rather unpredictable although, the Ram can provide this facility at walk end.
