We are the Newark Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
The walk will start from the car park on Parfitt Drive in Farnsfield. We will head towards the playing fields before turning right through the wood and over the fields where we will stop for a break before joining Greaves Lane. Soon after joining Greaves Lane we will turn right at Wood Farm and follow the path into Coombs Wood. We will take the path on the right out of Coombs Wood to join Coombs Lane where we will stop for a break at the Halifax War Memorial. We will then continue along Coombs Lane until we reach Farnsfield where people are welcome to stop for refreshments at one of the many cafes available or The Plough Inn. There are some beautiful views over the fields and the War Memorial is worth a visit. The walk is 5 miles long.

There are some steep inclines going through Coombs Wood and the ground can be very uneven, so please wear appropriate shoes and waterproof clothing as required. Greaves Lane is quite narrow so please be vigilante when crossing and observing oncoming vehicles. Some of the stiles are placed at an odd angle so please be careful when crossing. Overall please be careful with footing as grounds may be slippy in areas, particularly in damp conditions.
