We are the Isle of Wight Ramblers. We arrange walks, monitor paths and help our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
*I'm writing this on A Very Nice Day on Friday. Sunday is going to be bit rough on the tops, so I'm going armed with alternative relatively wind-free routes, one of which we can still hopefully enjoy. I'll be able to assess better in Jubilee car park!
Well, it is certainly going to be a surprise. It is less than a week to go before it all happens. I hope that you will come along on Sunday and be amazed!
Bring a drink.
**Just a word, for those of you who will be going up Lynch Lane from the Sun Inn at Calbourne: there is a "road closed" notice at the junction; ignore that and drive up to the car park as normal. If you are going to be driving up Lynch Lane from Brighstone, you will find your road closed at some point and will need to go up Strawberry Lane to the Jubilee car park instead.
New walkers welcome. If you are new to the Ramblers you can just turn up for any of our walks, unless we specify otherwise. We invite you to come along for three walks as a non-member.
Additional Notes
Depending on the weather, consider suitable, clothing, footwear, walking poles, sun cream, drinks, and food. Watch out for ticks and remove ASAP. If you are unsure about your ability to undertake this walk, please contact the walks leader. If you need to leave the walking group, please ensure you inform the leader or back marker.
Please note that there may be short sections of road walking, so please walk in a single file and take good care.
