Following on from last week's megalith sighting, we explore the rich prehistory around the Medway. From Burham, we make our way up to Blue Bell Hill, the natural beauty of its swooping view punctuated by gritty industry. Closer at hand, we may see some early spring flowers on its rare chalk grassland habitat. We descend to two English Heritage neolithic burial sites at Kit's Coty. At another, the White Horse Stone, we jump into the medieval period on the Pilgrim's Way. We picnic in Boxley churchyard and can visit St Mary and All Saints church and/or have a drink at The King's Arms pub. We wend our way back to Burham via the ruins of Boxley Abbey, following the Rochester-Ramsgate Augustine Camino.
