An undulating walk with numerous ups and downs, though no major ascents other than the last one entering Goudhurst. The route takes us through open country including numerous orchards and farms, with views across the High Weald and the Downs to the North
We leave the picturesque Goudhurst and pass Ladham House and Finchurst Farm before we enter the extensive orchards of Northiam Farm as we pass to the North of Horsmonden towards the evocatively named Swigs Hole Farm. The route takes up to Castle Hill via Poplars with its views over the country to the North and we drop into Brenchley where we admire the buildings of the village centre and pass through the churchyard towards the iconic Half Way House where we will take our picnics and refreshments as wished.
After lunch we will climb back up to join the High Weald Landscape Trail which we will follow most of the way back to Goudhurst past an ancient ironworks site and Sprivers, a National Trust house and park.
Please check www.sevenoaksramblers.org.uk before joining the walk for any changes and the weather forecast.
We encourage car sharing and the car parking is limited at Goudhurst.
