Kinver Edge is an outcropping of mainly red sandstone situated on the Staffordshire-Worcestershire border.On the north of the Edge is an Iron Age earthwork.There are numerous unoccupied rock dwellings around the Edge,Holy Austin Rock,Nanny’s Rock and Vale Rock all of which we will pass.
From the summit can be seen the Clent Hills,Cotswolds,Bredon Hill,Clee Hills,Long Mynd,Wenlock Edge and the Malvern Hills Kinver Edge is owned by the National Trust with the ecology about two-thirds woodland and one third heathland.
We will also visit the parts of the Staffordshire & Worcestershire canal remarkably cut through the sandstone rocks.
