We are the Wakefield and District Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
This is a linear walk, travelling to Kirkburton by bus from the end of Park Mill Way, Clayton West departing at 10.11am and walking back to our cars.
If you could arrive by 9.50am to allow time to "boot up" please. Bus fare £2 or free with a WY Senior Concessionary bus pass!
The walk is 8 miles with 11 stiles. There are two initial climbs totalling 100m but thereafter it is usual West Yorkshire countryside. There are some fields but the walk is mainly on tracks and minor roads - not too much mud.
We usually have a short drink stop after an hour's walking followed by an al fresco lunch around the mid point of the walk subject to a suitable spot.
Meet on Park Mill Way, Clayton West, in time to catch the 10.11am bus to Kirkburton (bus stop at the end of Park Mill Way). Check on website nearer the time for confirmation of bus time.
