Starting from York Place Car Park, we will make our way to Abbey Road, where we will follow the path of the Nidd including a brief stop at St Robert's Cave. We will then cross the bridge coming back down towards Knaresborough on the other side of the river.
We continue down Waterside and head up the steps to the castle 🏰, where we will enjoy the iconic view of the viaduct while we have a break and our lunch.
From here, we go back to the river for a brief while before we pick up the Harrogate Ringway Trail and then find ourselves returning through the stunning Nidd Gorge back to Knaresborough.
This is steady walk on a mixture of terrain. There are the odd one or two ascents and a climb up some steep steps to the castle, hence the moderate rating, otherwise it's a relatively easy and enjoyable walk.
🅿️ Meet at York Place pay & display car park (currently £4 all day).
