We start our walk from Golgotha Village and pass through the grounds of the old Lancaster Moor Hospital. We continue past the HMP Lancashire Farms Young Offenders Prison on our way down to the River Lune at Halton and follow the riverside path to the Crook O' Lune where we will stop for lunch ( there are toilets and a cafe here ) We cross over the river and follow the tarmac cycle track back to the Lune Aqueduct, joining the towpath of the Lancaster Canal, we make oue way towards Williamson Park where we can rest for a while to enjoy the views and climb up the Ashton Memorial Folly if you still feel energetic. Then its a short stroll back to the car.
