A delightful Autumn walk mainly through deciduous woodland, so hopefully we
should enjoy some good autumn colour.
We follow a section of the Red Kite Trail up through Chopwell Wood towards High Spen, and then follow Spen Burn down through the wooded Rowlands Gill towards Warren's Haugh. From there, it's a leisurely stroll back along the Derwent Walk railway path to the historic village of Lintzford on the River Derwent, where a water-powered corn mill (and later a paper mill) once stood.
Tea and cakes will be available in the garden centre after the walk.
Advance booking is required for this walk. To reserve your place, please e-mail the walk leaders, Sue, through the contact box above - and remember to include your mobile number in the e-mail. Please check your spam folder for any replies.
Booking opens on Monday, 20th October.
