Overview

Leaving the racecourse we walk to Brogyntyn Hall, what was once the home of the Lords of Harlech. We walk past Gateacre Park and the Oswestry Hillfort and then through Oswestry town centre. We leave Oswestry onto fields that takes us onto a country estate parkland.  We eventually come to a walled garden – all that remains of Llanforda Hall which was demolished in 1947.  It was the seat of Williams-Wynn family which had a stake in Oswestry Racecourse. We climb through Candy Wood following in part the route of Offa’s Dyke before returning back to the Old Racecourse.  VTC: £4
