We are the Devon Bootlegs Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
This is a 12 mile walk, starting at the junction of Cedar Road and Fern Road on the outskirts of Newton Abbot. There is plenty of street parking available, but please be mindful not to block residents driveways. The actual meeting point will be by the junction itself - ///homing.bracing.ferried - where we can immediately access a footpath and begin the walk.
We'll head down a mixture of woodland footpaths, hedgerow lanes and roads, down to the River Teign, where we'll navigate the coast path - provided I've got the tide times right ???? - and then we climb up to Stokeinteignhead and over to Coffinswell - where, depending on the time, we can grab a drink in the pub - before finishing on a short walk back to the meet point.
This is a moderate walk, but I would say at the strenuous end of moderate, with 1700ft of vertical ascent.
