We are the Devon Bootlegs Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Starting at the public car park (Toilets), up School Lane - ///sideburns.jots.reshaping - in Newton Poppleford at 1000 hrs, we'll take a jaunt in the Otter Valley area around Tipton St John, taking in the bluebells of Core Hill Wood, the big views from Fire Beacon Hill and a mix of woodland - with Woodpecker's currently making their homes - farmland, heathland and river valley, where we'll hopefully see some lovely, Spring, hedgerow flowers.
We'll traverse footpaths and hedgerow lanes some of which will be steep and a bit washed out so, although a moderate route, a modicum of fitness, agility and balance wouldn't go amiss. ????
If you've not seen the bluebells out in Core Hill Woods, this would be a good time to get up there, as they'll likely be out and at their best a few weeks earlier than other parts of the country.
