Our destination this evening is the Swanwick Lakes Nature Reserve, a former clay pit which supplied the nearby former Bursledon brickworks, now a heritage site. After briefly setting off in the wrong direction along the Hamble foreshore we will soon change direction, hopefully pass some donkeys and head to explore the 36 hectares of the nature reserve. Our return route will take us back via one of the entrances to the brickworks. The walk is relatively flat and hopefully not too muddy as conditions are improving with the recent better weather. Sunset this evening is 21:24 so no torches required.
No booking required.
