Overview

We cross Lowther deer park to Whale then follow the river Lowther to Askham Bridge and loop through Heining Wood and back up to Lowther Castle before returning to our cars. Lovely autumn colours and (hopefully) far reaching views from the highest points of the deer park. Going underfoot is pretty good throughout, a mix of trails, grassy paths and minor road
